Summarized, the methodology described in this paper can be applied (1) to save power by applying a minimum energy state while keeping up flexibility for future load boosts; (2) apply demand response management; (3) be able to immediately react to emergencies (for example cooling failures) or other incidents; (4) data center internal regulation of power consumption to prevent penalties (especially in co-location data centers).
